VA Alicante – is a stunning PRE Andalusian Bay colt out of our Canadian National Champion mare VMF Valencia and by our US and Canadian National Champion stallion, VA Manolete’s Hijo Amado. This colt was absolutely bred for dressage. He is full brother to National Supreme Champions VA Alejo and VA San Paulo. He is every bit as good as his brothers and is a perfect combination of the two. He will be big and powerful like Alejo (16.3HH and excel in dressage) and he is bay and beautiful like San Paulo. Alicante is currently standing at 15.3HH at 22 months so without any doubt, Alicante will be well over 16.0HH and more likely 16.2HH like his sire Amado.

Triana is a 2010 grey Canadian National Champion Andalusian mare. Her dam is our US National Champion mare, Inez VW. Her Sire was our Canadian Multi-national Champion sire, Mystique’s Manolete. Triana has been an incredibly easy horse to handle. She was easily started under saddle this year and has been a joy to ride. Her conformation is outstanding and her movement compelling. She was shown at the Canadian National show in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 2011 Triana was the National Champion Filly, 1 and Under, National Champion Filly, 2 and Under, Reserve Champion PRE Mares, all ages, and Reserve Champion Andalusian Mare, Amateur to Handle. In 2012 she was the Reserve National Champion Filly, 2 years old. In 2013 she was National Champion Jr Mare, 3 & 4 years old, National Champion Andalusian Mare, Amateur to Handle. In 2015, Triana outdid herself at the Nationals by tying with Estampa MA for High Point Andalusian/Lusitano Horse for the entire show. See her show results below. She is quite accomplished for such a young mare. In 2015 we welcomed a gorgeous colt from Triana by Mystique’s Padrino. Thank you Triana for your beautiful gift. VA Aragon (sold) was an amazing colt. In 2017 Triana gave us a lovely filly by Escamillo – VA Sueño De Ayer (sold) and in 2018 she had a stunning filly by our stallion Norteño Rey MA – VA Cortesa (for sale). The Honorable US Judge, Mr Richard Petty, pronounced Spirit to be the 2019 Canadian National Supreme Halter Champion, 2019 National Champion 2 year old Filly and Gold Medal Movement winner, 3rd place in the National Champion Best Movement class (VA Elevado and VA Nobleza were National and Reserve National Champs). This gorgeous grey was best in show !!! Spirit is daughter to our twice Canadian National Supreme Halter Champion (2016/2017) and Best Movement winner VA La Duquesa and her sire is our black stallion – 3 time National Champion Sr Stallion – VA Manolete’s Hijo Amado. She has incredible conformation and outstanding movement with extensions to die for. The best part is – she is now 3 years old and ready to be started under saddle.

2010 Black PRE Stallion standing 16.2 HH
Amado outdid himself in 2019 after not only winning Champion Western Pleasure Open but also the Supreme Champion Western Pleasure Open at the Andalusian World Cup in Las Vegas. Whoop Whoop !! Two back to back wins with stiff competition, nicely done Amado. Amado was also the 2019 (2017 and 2015) Canadian National Champion Sr Stallion and Gold Medal Movement winner. He was Reserve Champion in both 2017 and 2015 in the Champion PRE Stallions, All Ages class. We were OK with that because in 2015 his 4 month old son, VA San Paulo, was the Champion and in 2017 our other stallion Norteño Rey MA was champion. San Paulo was also the Canadian National Supreme Halter Champion which is a repeat performance from 2013 when Amado’s son, VA Alejo was the Supreme Halter Champion.
Coming from a long line of National Champions, both in North America and in Spain, Amado is a National Champion in his own right. Amado was shown in 2010 and was pronounced US National Reserve Champion Colt, 2 years and under, when he was only six months old.
On Amado’s topside, his sire is Canadian National Champion Senior Stallion, Mystique’s Manolete. Manolete has won over 20 National titles in both performance and halter. His grand sire is Sandokan who was US National champion Jr. Stallion in 2003, Reserve National Champion Sr. Stallion in 2006 and winner of numerous National performance titles. His Great Grand Sires were Molinete IV and Navarre GF, both multi-national title holders.
On Amado’s bottom side, his dam is US and Canadian National Champion Estampa MA. His Grandfather is US National Champion Ocioso VIII, producer of more national champions than any US sire to date. He also has Leviton, Hosco and Genio III in his long list of champion forefathers.
Amado had his first foal crop in 2013 with phenomenal results. His 2013 son, VA Alejo, was shown at 3 months of age at the Canadian National Andalusian show with Judge Sue Burkman of Santa Barbara, California presiding. She pronounced Alejo to be the Supreme Halter Champion of the entire show. Her words were “This colt is gorgeous, I mean absolutely gorgeous”. In 2015, Amado’s son VA San Paulo was pronounced the Supreme Halter Champion under Hall of Fame inductee judge Mr. Richard Petty. Not only did he pick a 4 month old colt to be the best of show but Mr Petty actually walked over to the microphone to comment to the audience on the “outstanding quality of this colt!”. In 2016 Amado’s yearling filly, VA La Reina and his weanling filly, VA La Luna Elegante were the National and Reserve National Champion Filly, 1 year and under.

VMF Valencia
Valencia is a 2005 PRE Revised grey Andalusian mare. Her dam is OA Sienna and her sire is Quimerico KF formerly owned by Paul Dufresne of Training for Courage. Valencia completely outdid herself in 2013, which coincidentally was the first time she had ever stepped into a show arena. Not only was she pronounced the Canadian National Champion Senior Mare but she can also boast winning the Canadian National Champion Best Movement class as well. Her daughter, VA Azucena was Reserve Champion in the Best Movement class reinforcing the fact that this is a great line of movers and shakers. Her 3 month old colt that was at her side, VA Alejo (sold), was pronounced the Canadian National Supreme Halter Champion for the whole show. Great job Valencia! In 2013 we bred Valencia back to Alejo’s sire (our black stallion Amado) and got a gorgeous grey colt with huge movement, VA Titanio (sold). Virtually a clone except for the colour. In 2015 Valencia outdid herself again producing VA San Paulo (sold) – another Supreme Halter Champion. In 2016 Valencia gave us a gorgeous black filly VA Sombre De Valencia (sold). Vali was shown in 2017 and was National Champion Filly, 1 year and under and Gold Medal Movement Winner. In 2017 Valencia and Amado gave us a second black colt VA Acero Negro (sold) and he was shown at the Canadian Nationals at 4 months and was the National Champion Colt, 1 yr and under and the Gold Medal Movement Winner. Acero was also show in Las Vegas at the Andalusian World cup and was the unanimous Champion ANCCE Colt, 1 year and under. We again bred Valencia to Amado and in 2018 we had a beautiful grey filly, VA Adaja (sold). Her movement is outstanding. Valencia had a fantastic bay colt – the clone of San Paulo and Alejo who is currently on our sales list. We left Valencia open last year so we didn’t have a foal from her this year. We are placing Valencia on our sales list as we are downsizing our herd and will offer her for sale open or bred – buyer’s choice. This is the first time she has ever been offered for sale and will help improve any breeder’s herd out there.

VMF Gema Preciosa
GEMA HAS BEEN SOLD AS A BROOD MARE WITH HER 2019 PRE FILLY VA PIEDRA PRECIOSA (By Norteno Rey MA)
Gema is a 2009 grey PRE Andalusian mare. She truly is a gem. Her dam is our multi-national champion Mare, VMF Valencia and her sire was our multi-national champion stallion, Mystique’s Manolete. We had great plans to show Gema at the 2010 Nationals as a yearling for she really was a sight to behold. About 2 weeks before the show, I walked out into the field to bring her in for her halter lesson and there she was unable to move her right rear leg. We took her to Washington State University where it was confirmed that she had broken her hip. Fortunately for Gema, it was broken in such a way that the specialist thought that, with time, she might heal well enough to be a broodmare. She was kept at WSU for another 2 months before she returned home for 6 months of stall rest followed by another 6 months of limited confinement. Today, Gema gallops around the field with all the other girls with such elegance and elevation that even the Revision Vet commented about her beautiful movement. He was shocked when I told him that she had had a broken hip. Gema has given us several beautiful PRE foals. In 2014 – VA Mi Poca Fresa (sold), in 2015 -VA La Cristal (sold), in 2016 – VA Pura Vivaz – beautiful grey filly (FOR SALE), 2017 – VA Joya Preciosa – gorgeous black filly (FOR SALE) and in 2018 – another show stopper – grey filly – VA Alegria (FOR SALE), Gema is young and healthy and will have many more beautiful foals in her future.

Duquesa was born with white around her eyes and by the time she was 3 months old she was snow white. A very striking filly, Duquesa has incredible conformation and movement with a very feminine look. At the 2014 Nationals, Duquesa took everyone by surprise when she entered the arena and was a complete show stopper. She was so breathtaking that the photographer requested a private photo shoot after the show. VA La Duquesa was the 2014 Canadian National Champion filly, 1 year old and the Gold Medal Movement winner. She was the 2015 National Champion 2 year old Filly and the 2016 National Champion Jr Mare and Gold Medal Movement Winner. Ysabela has been Sold
Ysabela is a 2010 National Champion PRE grey Andalusian mare. Her dam is our multi-national Champion mare VMF Valencia and her sire was our multi-national Champion stallion, Mystique’s Manolete. Ysabela did very well at the 2016 National Show winning the coveted title of National Champion Andalusian Best Movement in a class of 15 horses. She was also Reserve National Champion Andalusian Sr Mare (a close second to her sister VA Manolete’s Triana who was the NC). In 2011, Ysabela was the National Champion filly, 1 year and under and Reserve National Champion Filly, 2 and under. In both of these classes she was also the Gold Medal Movement winner. This girl is a real mover and an outstanding dressage prospect. In 2017 we had Ysabela in a Juan Manuel Muñoz Diaz clinic and he said that Ysabela had the best walk he had ever seen on an Andalusian….ever!!!! He was also very impressed with her trot and canter. This combination produced a beautiful stallion with exceptional movement. Agosto won the 2008 Canadian National Champion Colt, 2 years and Under as a yearling. He was then shown under saddle as a 3 year old in 2010 where he won 5 national titles in dressage and English pleasure both in open and Junior Horse. Just prior to Agosto’s 4th birthday he performed at the Fiesta where he did a spectacular exhibition freestyle displaying extensions that would take your breath away. Agosto was sold in 2011 to Wendy Feller where he stands at stud near Portland, Oregon. Agosto is the sire of our beautiful black ¾ Andalusian filly, VA Sofia. Sofia was the 2013 Supreme Halter Champion, part-bred.
Mystique’s Manolete

(SOLD) Mystique’s Manolete is an outstanding 2003 Grey PRE stallion. His beauty, strength, conformation, and his superbly elevated movement, are what make him the superstar that he is. Manolete was very comfortable in the show arena. Starting as early as a yearling, Manolete was awarded the grand slam in the halter world. He won Canadian National Champion Colt, 2 and under, NC Jr Stallion and NC Sr Stallion twice as well as numerous gold medals for movement. He also went on to win over a dozen National titles in performance over the 3 National shows he went to while under saddle. NC English Pleasure, NC Dressage Suitability, NC Show Hack, NC Dressage Hack just to name a few. He was also shown at open shows in dressage by both Olympic rider Ms. Leslie Reid and Mr. Sven Smienk scoring in the 70’s up to 3rd Level.
Manolete’s sire, Sandokan, is a four-time winner at the IALHA nationals in Texas including two National Champion and two Reserve National Champion Halter titles. His dam, Mystique’s Leyenda, is also a multi-title winner, including Grand Champion Filly 2000 IALHA Region 2, Top Five Filly at the 2000 IALHA US Nationals and Grand Champion Senior Mare and Gold Medal Movement at the IALHA PAAHL Canadian Show in 2005. In addition, Manolete’s grand-dam Linda was the first horse ever to win Grand Champion Filly as a yearling at the 1992 IALHA US Nationals as well as 1997 Reserve Champion Mare at the IALHA US Nationals.
It was with great sadness that we sold Manolete to Mr Bob Price of Chicago in 2010 but it was the right thing to do as Manolete has an opportunity to reach his potential in the dressage world that he wasn’t able to do here in the Kootenays.
Manolete has produced some very special offspring for us to help carry on his legacy.

VMF Gitano De La Noche is a 2006 grey PRE Andalusian stallion. His sire is Gitanillo Del Sol, a black PRE stallion owned by Arrow Valley Farms and his dam is our foundation mare OA Sienna. Gitano was sold in 2008 as a breeding stallion and performance horse. Gitano is showing and winning in open classes in Western, English, driving and Dressage. Gitano resides in Saskatchewan where he is owned and loved by Crystal Harper

VMF Escudo De Armas is a grey 2006 Azteca gelding. His sire is national champion stallion Mystique’s Manolete and his dam is our beautiful AQHA mare Tivio Jacks Ms Holly. This lovely gelding was donated by Valhalla Andalusians in 2010 to PAALH where he was auctioned off at the Fiesta.

Gaviota is a 2005 3/4 Andalusian filly. In 2007 Gaviota was shown as a 2 year old at the inaugural Canadian National show and became the first National Champion ½ Andalusian Jr Mare, 4 and under and the first National Champion Half Andalusian Best Movement winner. This filly was not only gorgeous but incredibly sweet as well. Her sire was bay PRE stallion Arrow Verono and her dam was our Half Andalusian mare VMF J-Lo. Gaviota now lives on Salt Spring Island with her proud and loving owner, Mariette Klemm

Valiente is a 2004 Multi National Champion Bay PRE Andalusian stallion. His sire was Quimerico KF and his dam was our foundation mare OA Sienna. Valiente was shown by dressage rider Sven Smeink in 2008 as a 4 year old at the Canadian National show where he won numerous national titles in performance including Dressage Suitability Open and Dressage Suitability Jr Horse to name a few. Valiente was sold as a 4 year old and resides in the Chicago area.

Sold – VMF Valioso is a 2003 grey PRE Andalusian stallion. He was sold to Duncan Murray in 2006 where he was gelded and started his career in dressage. He was winner of the USDF 2009 PRE breed award, open and amateur, for Training Level.
